Thief in the Shadows

Yes a new Smaug themed picture, this time after I've seen the film, and if you don't know by now I absolutely loved it! Best film of the year! Smaug is amazing! Yadda yadda yadda!

So in recognition of it's amazing nature I thought I'd try to draw Smaug as I remember one of the shots used where he is speaking to Bilbo, this scene is incredible, the expressions on his face are amazing, the voice is brilliant and he is just a perfect bad guy. 

One thing that did surprise me is in the trailer everything is colourful inside of Erebor, such as the gold and Smaug, but in the film the colour is really turned down in Erebor, which is a brilliant effect. 

Anyways, loved it. We're gonna shoot our Reeltime episode on it tomorrow talking about how awesome it is, then I will see it for my third time!
